About BE-Basic

The Board is responsible for the daily operations of the BE-Basic Foundation and its strategic position and ambitions, which it will translate into policy. The team directs the Support Office (SO) and chairs meetings of the Management Team.

Luuk van der Wielen

Delft University of Technology

Prof.dr.ir. Luuk A.M. van der Wielen (Amsterdam, 16-06-1964) holds a MSc degree in Chemical Engineering from Twente University (Netherlands), and a PhD degree (with honours) from Delft University of Technology (TUD). Since February 2017, he is Director of the Bernal Institute at the University of Limerick, Ireland, (http://www.bernalinstitute.com/) and Bernal Professor for Biosystems Design and Engineering, while continuing as Distinguished Professor for Biobased Economy of TUD.

Bram Brouwer

BioDetection Systems

Prof. dr. Abraham (Bram) Brouwer (1952) holds an MSc degree in Biochemistry
and Pharmacology, and a PhD degree in Medicine from Leiden University (Netherlands). He is an officially licensed toxicologist with over 20 years of experience in the field of environmental and nutritional toxicology. read more
