Today, the first Dual Degree PhD student Renato Sano Coelho MSc, of the TU Delft-UNICAMP program was awarded the doctor title. He successfully defended his thesis “Biomass and lipids production from heterotrophic microalgae” under supervision of promotors Professor Telma Franco and Professor Luuk van der Wielen. Professor Peter Wieringa, Conrector at TU Delft presided the PhD committee and congratulated Renato on his work.  

The Dual Degree PhD program between TU Delft, The Netherlands and UNICAMP, Brazil currently counts fifteen students aiming towards 25 Dual Degree PhD candidates in 2020 and 100 in 2025.
